Abstract
A feasibility study for wireless broadband networks based on LTE technology in rural Victoria is presented. The study is a result of the Australian Government´s National Broadband Network (NBN) plan which is set to deliver high speed broadband internet to all households in Australia. This article focuses on the capabilities and limitations of the wireless radio link solution in the state of Victoria and identifies some key system parameters. The system modeling and simulation results are obtained from a coverage simulator developed by Mobile R&D group at NEC Australia.
