Abstract :
Using a mode-matching technique, the author theoretically analyzed propagation characteristics of electromagnetic waves in a dielectric slab waveguide with a periodic slot array filled with a semiconductor illuminated with light that is twice the interval of the period of the slot array. The possibility is discussed that the frequency band in which Bragg interaction and the leaky waves occur in the waveguide can be changed by altering the period of the slot array using optically induced semiconductor plasma in the apertures.
