Abstract
In this contribution we propose a review of our latest results in applying the scattering cancellation technique to cloak complex objects, both at microwave and optical frequencies. Different configurations based on the employment of metamaterials are reviewed, analyzing their performances through proper figures of merit and discussing the fundamental aspects of design procedure. Our theoretical models are then validated through proper full-wave simulations also considering both losses in a realistic scenario, showing how it is possible to obtain a significant reduction of the field scattered from a given object by a proper engineered cloaking device.
