Abstract :
Using the definition of lattices, morphological operations closed under inf or sup is derived. So, upper and lower bounds are generated. For signals this means that upper and lower envelopes are found. Defining in a specific manner morphological filters, their noise suppression action for different signals is tested and compared with those of linear or rank-ordered filters.
