Abstract
To improve the flexibility and extensibility of traditional RTDB systems, which adopt field-specific ways of data representation that always leads to customized development whenever requirements changes, ChRDB manages all the data, both system dependent and project specific, in an object-oriented style. Customized types of data objects and corresponding instances can be easily created to satisfy any project-specific requirements newly devised. With the kernel module optimized in the platform-dependent level and wrapped into a uniform abstraction level, ChRDB can be ported to all the main-stream operation systems, including Windows and major UNIX variants. With the help of the performance adaptive mechanism that are driven by the supporting computing platform and the real-time responsiveness evaluation of client processes, ChRDB achieves high performance and availability as proved by both the simulation results and real-world operations.
