Abstract :
The bulky traditional transformers are inconvenient to be transported and installed for the high habitation density and the narrow congest environment in the shanties and old lanes in Shanghai central urban districts, which results in an awful power supply and low voltage problems in these districts. In this paper, a new method is proposed that using S11 series small capacity single-pole-mounted transformers and 10 kV insulated interwoven down-lead to supply power for the complicated environmental districts in Shanghai central urban area, which has great effect to improve the energy quality in these districts. The distribution network of a typical district in Shanghai is analyzed as an example, in which the above-mentioned method is used for improving the power supply quality in this district. This practical example validates that the proposed method has a good application effect and is valuable for further application.
