The Smart Grid are the development direction of the power grid in each nation. Electronic Transformers are sense organs of the Self-Healing Grid. The paper has discussed the development course of the Self-Healing Grid, requirements for Electronic transformers by the Smart Grid and International standards, the application of Electronic Transformers in the Smart Grid.
