Abstract
Wavelet analysis is widely used in seismic data processing, but is relatively less used in the study of resolution. The article takes the corresponding analysis in the wavelet decomposition for the seismic data in volcanic rock region. Result shows that due to the earth filtering effects, the practically processed section planes are not the section planes with the best resolution, there lies great relativities among the neighboring traces, the section planes that being processed by wavelet decomposition with certain scales have the best resolution. Only improving the main dominant frequency of the seismic sections, the practically processed section planes may relatively approach the section planes with the best resolution.
