Abstract :
Asphalt concrete is a typical non-uniform material, in the mechanical analysis it is generally considered homogeneous and isotropic body. But the theoretical analysis results are difficult to reconcile with actual. At the same time homogeneous hypothesis is also very difficult to explain the phenomena that crack layer´s cracking resistance of coarse aggregate of bitumen macadam is better than small size asphalt concrete. The author passed in homogeneous asphalt concrete introduced a coarse aggregate, Application of fracture mechanics plane finite element program systematically analyzed the coarse aggregate on asphalt concrete cracking performance impact, Analysis results can better explain the large particle cracking of asphalt concrete has better performance than small size asphalt concrete.
