Abstract :
In order to solve the problem that wireless sensor network gateway which is arranged in forest environment can not automatically restart on power, a new-style gateway node is designed. The gateway takes NB100 launched by Crossbow as core, Debian Linux as embedded real time operating system, together with GPRS module with the built-in TCP / IP protocol and coordination node. The written Linux script programs which are linked to startup items are responsible for the gateway automatically restart on power including identification of coordinator and GPRS module by NB100, GPRS connection and regular monitor of connection status, monitoring data conversion and transmission back to the ftp server of monitor center. The design and implementation of software and hardware of gateway are given. Experimental results show that the basic functions of the gateway nodes can be achieved. The realization of automatically restart on power makes gateway work more smoothly and reduces the need of manual maintenance greatly.
