Abstract
An effective method to match a desired group delay function using an all-pass digital filter is presented. This iterative eigen-delay technique uses the Rayleigh principle to solve the least squares delay error problem. Performance improvement over other design techniques is evident for low and medium order filters when a mean-squared error metric is computed.
