Abstract :
In this paper, we develop a Kalman channel predictor based receiver for DS-CDMA systems. In particular, we develop and analyze the performance of a minimum-output-energy (MOE) receiver with short spreading codes, when fast Rayleigh flat fading channels are predicted by the Kalman filter. For comparison, we also derive the performance of a matched filter receiver with long spreading codes. It is shown by analysis and simulation that in a fast fading environment, MOE with short spreading codes is better than matched filter with long spreading codes.
