Abstract :
In this paper we investigate how to increase the capacity of GSM radio interfaces in subway tunnel environments by means of antenna arrays and Space-Time Coding (STC) techniques. We first consider space-time equalization techniques that only account for the noise and the Intersymbol Interference (ISI). Then, we show how to improve the performance by considering of a ST encoder at transmission and an iterative ST decoding algorithm at reception.
