Abstract :
In this paper, we propose an interference mitigation technique for non-coherent on-off keying (OOK) receivers with respect to co-channel interference source. If the interfering signal (undecipherable at the receiver) is greater or equal to the desired signal, no reception is possible. A method is presented that mitigates this effect by inserting a blank space during the transmission of binary `1´ in OOK signaling. Differential detection at the non-coherent receiver is employed to remove the symbol constant interference using the interference statistic from the initially inserted blank space. The proposed method not only mitigates the interference effect but uses the interfering signal power as another degree of freedom to detect the desired signal better.
