Abstract :
In this paper we present an environment composed of two solutions offering a flexible combination of general public personalised e-Care Services according to user´s preference or available ICT media, and at a second level a service aiming cognitive and physical training for elderly people inside an independent living setting. Work from two European CIP projects - T-Seniority and LLM - is presented addressing the needs of a rapidly growing category occupied by the very old, namely the over-eighties, which are more likely to become ill and, are, therefore, more dependant. The ageing population creates a market on its own, where a significant amount of online services are provided. In the context of this investigation we examine the business benefits which offer a neutral, high quality infrastructure for product/service deployment.
