Abstract
The trend of European citizens moving and living in one or other European Union countries are challenging the changes in Civil Registry sector. The exchange of a valid citizen documentation of birth, marriage and death between two EU countries becomes an important issue. This paper describes the ECRN web application services to obtain these Civil Registry acts in a secure and certified way, according the legal base of the multilingual document Vienna Convention signed on the 8th of September 1976. The solution developed by ECRN is in an approach to support a full interoperability with the national systems, in the respect of the technical, legislative and organizational specificities among EU Members States, and other ongoing EC IST CIP projects. The ECRN realization offers important advantages for the Civil Registry administrations and Citizens: the effects are positive for simplification of the process, for the speed and secure Civil Registry documents exchanges, for the immediate answers to the citizens requests.
