Abstract
Sulfhydryl compounds reduce radiation induced injury. A view of principal studies in vivo and in vitro was first reported [1]. Interaction with DNA or lipids was then investigated in our laboratory [2]. Tripeptide glutathione GSH is the most abundant natural aminothiol in cells. We have presented spectrophotometric results in U.V. range concerning interaction between DNA and GSH [3] or competition between GSH´ and the stronger radioprotector WR-1065 in interaction with DNA [4]. Then we have evaluated the intrinsic electrochemical properties of both reduced and oxydized forms of gluthatione, using noise spectrography, in absence of any applied electrical field [5]. In this paper we present a dielectric study of the interaction between DNA and both forms of glutathione before or after an addition of WR-1065 to DNA, taking in consideration the addition order.
