Abstract :
Applying dielectric waveguide for applicator in hyperthermia treatment, an applicator having no metal walls can be made, which has possibility to be small and flexible. In the practical treatment, it is very important to be previously informed the distribution of specific absorption rate (SAR) in order to perform hyperthermia treatment in safety. The finite-different time-domain (FD-TD) technique is used to calculate SAR distribution in the human body using the experimental data of EM field generated by a dielectric waveguide applicator.
