Abstract :
In this study, a new model for the contractile element of Hill\´s three element model of cardiac muscle is investigated, for isometric and isotonic phases of relaxation of isotonic twitches, using physiological experiments of Brusaert et al. on cat papillary muscle. Simulation results show that the proposed model, very closely "mimics " the mechanical behaviour of a single muscle twitch.
