Abstract
It is well known that the atherosclerotic plaque formation can be correlated to the shear stress at the vessel wall. With the aim of investigating the influence of bypass geometrical parameters on the long term success of a by-pass procedure a two-dimensional model of a stenosed coronary with an aorto-coronary by-pass has been developed. The fluid dynamic equation have been solved using the finite element method. The results show the modification of native artery geometry due to the plaque growth.
