  • Abstract
Properties of ECG-leads to indicate heart diseases have been studied clinically, but the sensitivities of the leads to measure the disease induced changes in the heart activation are not usually considered. In this study new leads with high local radial or tangential sensitivity has been developed and their ability to detect the ischemia induced changes has been studied with clinical material of 101 cases. A strong relation of high radial sensitivity of the lead and ST-segment (60 ms) deviation was observed. This suggest that leads with disease tailored sensitivity distribution should improve the ECG-diagnosis.
