Abstract
In order to understand changes in the ventilation/perfusion ratio encountered by pilots of high performance aircraft, we developed an n-zone hemodynamic model of the pulmonary circulation to be associated with a compartmental model of the respiratory system. The results of our studies are intended to improve our understanding of pilots´ tolerance to sustained high acceleration stress.
