Abstract
Breast cancer represents the most common form of cancer in women. It is responsible for 25% of death in women aged 35 to 54 years. Early screening of breast tumour is of help in the prognosis of a favorable outcome. Mammography plays a privileged role in the diagnosis, and this explains the development of numerical and processing methods aimed to improve the radiographic interpretation and the medical decision . This paper presents SENOLOG, an expert system for assistance in breast pathology. The associated Image database SENOBASE is described and the technical aspects briefly given. The clinical examination currently performed is discussed at the end.
