Abstract :
In this paper we present an approach to the interpretation of angiographic lesions of renal arteries. We describe a procedure which takes a structural description of a renal artery and a particular class of lesions as inputs and maps them into an output space that evaluates the compatibility between them. Classes of lesions specialize the different possible types of lesions for the renal artery in an hypertensive context. The classes are defined by conceptual prototypes that are represented by fuzzy sets. The compatibility evaluation procedure is based on the possibility theory.
