Abstract
A low-cost image processing workstation has been developed to improve the preoperative strategy for the placement of dental implant or for dental surgery. Three-dimensionnal computed tomography (GT) images are directly input from scanner into a microcomputer. Custom sofware developed for this workstation fits the dental necessities of osseous elements limpidity dealing with teeth : it uses a transmitted light visualisation; this technique hasn´t been developed, until now, on scanner sofware. Thus, it shows a global 3D view of the volume, in addition to the section reformatting.
