Abstract
Until now capture recognition of evoked potentials using a single electrode is limited by electrode polarisation. Electronic measures have not been successful due to the variability of the after potential. However, it is shown, that a porous coating — e.g. of TiN or Ir — reduces the after potential significantly. Using coated electrodes an autoshort between stimulus and ECG of about 80 ms decreases the offset potential to zero enabling a reliable capture recognition via the normal detection channel.
