Abstract :
Signal preprocessing in biomagnetic data, prior to source localization, includes for example algorithms for noise suppression or separation of signals from different sources. Such algorithms usually do not achieve their purpose ideally, but leave a rest of distortion in the data, or even may introduce new distortions. Statistical source distributions are used in this simulation study as a tool to estimate the effect of a signal processing step on source localization accuracy. The method is described and the result of the application to a noise suppression algorithm is shown.
