Abstract :
We have produced an original dual-photon absorptiometer and specific algorithms permitting realtime automatic bone recognition, to reduce examination time (to 5 minutes), It permits the simultaneous measurement of the mineral density of an area of bone, of the fat percentage of the soft tissues (FPST) that surround it and of the variation in this percentage. It visually represents on a single image, freely defined in terms of dimension and definition, bone mineral and fat mass distributions.
