Abstract
Single photon transmission measurements can be used to obtain attenuation correction factors (ACFs) in Positron Emission Tomography (PET). Accurate deadtime correction must be applied to obtain the correct measured attenuation factors. A deadtime correction algorithm is presented for non-paralyzable block detectors used in modern tomographs.
