Abstract
This paper summarizes an invited contribution to the 1992 IEEE-BME Conference (PARIS). It discusses the necessity of imposing constraints on inverse solutions aimed at supporting the interpretation of the potentials which can be observed on the scalp in electroencephalography (EEG), the study of evoked potentials as well those observed on the torso surface in the case of electrocardiography (ECG).
