Abstract :
The high-performance scan conversion we developed provides superior image quality even for low ultrasound scanning line density. TV pixel data is generated by linear and third — order interpolation, linear interpolation (bi — linear interpolation) having been employed conventionally. The result of experiments showed that this method reduces ridge artifacts produced along the scan line in conventional bi — linear interpolation. Our improvement in the third-order interpolation algorithm enabled the circuit size to be reduced to a practical level for real-time equipment applications.
