Abstract
A novel planar antenna with bowtie shape for ultra-wideband (UWB) applications is presented in this paper. The proposed coaxial fed antenna is created by printing a semicircle on both sides of the substrate with two squares etched from the top element and two semicircles etched from the ground respectively. The simulated and measured results have shown that the designed antenna covers the 3.1-10.6 GHz band allocated to UWB systems with well behaved omnidirectional radiation pattern and linear phase response.
