Abstract
This paper proposes a dual-band rectifier circuit that uses Schottky diodes to convert DTV signals (470 - 770 MHz) and tag reader signals (950 - 956 MHz) to DC voltages for passive tag activation and enhanced range operation. Converted DC voltage in the presence or absence of tag reader is investigated in Agilent´s ADS simulator under multi-tone or single tone excitation, respectively. Generally, it is revealed that the total converted output DC voltage is the scalar addition of the conventional passive tag DC voltage and the integral of the DTV band DC voltage. The proposed circuit has a tunable input response.
