Abstract :
This paper presents a basic study on the characteristics of U-shaped folded dipole antenna (UFDA) upon a ground plane (GP). An effective method to apply this antenna to cover the two using frequency bands of WiMAX (2.3~2.7 GHz and 3.4~3.8 GHz) is also introduced here. As a result, this antenna can cover completely all the frequency band from 2.25 GHz to 3.81 GHz for VSWR ≤ 3 with a large relative bandwidth as 51.5%.
