Abstract :
A compact high-gain antenna with ultra wide bandwidth is proposed. A simple slot antenna offset fed by a microstrip line is used for excitation of short horn. Initial theoretical investigations are conducted to verify the effectiveness of the short horn in gain enhancement. Results show a wide impedance bandwidth from 2.86 to 20 GHz with a peak gain of 14.53 dBi at 14 GHz while an average gain of 10.5 dBi has noticed from 3 to 10 GHz region.
