Abstract :
MIMO-OTA (Over-the-air) measurement methods of mobile terminals have recently been studied and developed for mobile communications. However, the methods like these for base station antenna have not frequently been reported. In this paper, a novel fading generator using rotated scattering objects is proposed in order to establish an OTA measurement method for MIMO base station emulating radio environment around the base station. This fading generator is based on the near-field Jakes scattering model that is modified from conventional Jakes model. The validity of the generator that can create Rayleigh and Nakagami-Rice fading waves is clarified by simulation and experiment.
