Abstract :
This paper presents a comparative polarisation dependent study of various artificial ground surfaces based on the square unit-cell geometry. The characteristics of each surface are examined and quantified in terms of the reflection coefficients of the desired field component (co-polar component) and undesired field component (cross-polar component). The surfaces are simulated in CST Microstripes and the results are post-processed in Matlab. It will be shown that the Electromagnetic Bandgap (EBG) surface with an inclined metal via and the surface with diagonal slot exhibit polarisation dependent characteristics.
