Abstract
In this work we assess the feasibility of focused electromagnetic ablation of breast cancer. In our approach we consider two degrees of freedom, namely the bolus permittivity and the operational frequency. The electric fields in a two-dimensional configuration are computed per source using the iterative conjugate gradient method. The fields are subsequently focused in two lesions. The focusing performance is evaluated through the normalized cumulative histograms corresponding to the dissipated power patterns, indicating the potential of the treatment.
