Abstract
The so called "traditional" computational electromagnetic (CEM) techniques, such as vector finite elements methods, finite difference (volume) time domain methods, integral equation methods, and various hybridizations of such techniques, have become the major building blocks for many successful commercial software. A few innovations recently indeed made quantum leaps with lasting impacts both in academics as well as in industrial mission critical applications. Some of these innovations start, or have been, migrating into commercial software.
