Abstract :
We present a scheme to realize an undetectable reflector antenna. Discrete coordinate transformation is employed to design an `invisible´ carpet cloak which is functional to hide objects underneath. A parabolic reflector located under the designed carpet cloak is rendered undetectable to the external observers whilst still possessing its radiation characteristics. Furthermore, a novel kind of underground reflector is proposed, applying a new technique called `virtual boundary´. This new reflector is reduced to be all-dielectric so as to obtain a broadband performance. The Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) method is used to predict the performances of the proposed antenna systems at X-band. We show, via simulation results that an interrogating incident field cannot easily distinguish the reflector antennas from the flat ground plane. We also verify that the antenna systems have good radiation characteristics.
