  • Abstract
    High performance reflectors for telecom space such as, ultra light weight membrane reflectors, ka-band dual gridded antennas and high precision steerable antennas, are presented. Ultra light weight membrane reflectors can save the weight by more than 50% of conventional honeycomb. Large reflectors up to 3.2m have been in a commercial flight and their stable performances have been proven on orbit. A ka-band highly shaped dual gridded antenna for both transmit and receive use has been demonstrated for broadband satellite communication, and its low thermal distortion characteristics have been confirmed. A beam steering antenna is also presented which is steerable to any position on the earth disk for providing communication service flexibility to high traffic regions. Measured performances are in good agreement with the designed and its functions and stability have been proven on orbit.
