Abstract :
The Linear Sampling Method (LSM) is a simple and effective approach to image the geometrical features of unknown targets. In this communication, we exploit the physical interpretation of LSM as a focusing strategy to show how the LSM also provides additional information useful to facilitate the retrieval of the target´s electromagnetic properties. In particular, after discussing such an additional information that arises from the LSM, we show how to use it in the framework of non-linear inversion. Then, a novel imaging approach based on this concept is introduced. A numerical example is provided to assess its reliability and effectiveness.
