Abstract :
Possible size reduction of specific RFID tag antennas is studied in the paper. The tag should work when placed on cylindrical structure composed of metal with thin dielectric layer. Impedance matching techniques are employed to allow antenna operation near the ground plane and special care is taken to ensure omnidirectional radiation pattern in the plane perpendicular to the cylinder axis.
