Abstract
In this work, a novel economical configuration of printed antenna for an S-band multifunction phased array radar (MPAR) is presented and tested numerically. The radiating element is based on a simple stacked two-patch configuration suitably fed by a pair of integrated hybrid ring networks for dual-pol use. Excellent performance is achieved in terms of return loss, port isolation, polarisation purity, and radiation patterns. Application to a large scanning array environment is also illustrated.
