Abstract
Shielding effectiveness measurements are important for investigating enclosures with respect to electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) considerations. Especially measurements in small enclosures (like boxes for motor control units) are often difficult due to the little space for the receiving antenna. This paper shows measurements done with a small electro-optical E-field sensor which shows good accuracy and high sensitivity in the relevant frequency range. The main aim of this paper is to give insight into fundamental coupling mechanisms using a simple reference enclosure as device under test (DUT).
