Abstract :
This paper will present the design, simulation, fabrication and measurement of an omnidirectional ultra-wideband (UWB) Antenna which nearly compensates the free-space path loss (FSL). The achieved bandwidth of the antenna is about 167% (1 - 11 GHz), so it also covers the FCC regulated frequency spectrum for ultra-wideband applications (3.1 - 10.6 GHz). It will be used for reference signals in localisation systems.
