Bioengineering education in Iaşi: 17 years of experience

Over the few past decades, medical technologies have a fast growing and revolutionized medicine providing new tools for diagnosis and treatment of diseases. This trend generating numerous career opportunities and the necessity to develop academic programs for prepare the specialists in bioengineering. In Iasi at the “Gr. T. Popa” University of Medicine and Pharmacy, faculty of Medical Bioengineering was founded in 1994, and it was the only Romanian institution of its kind and one of the first such academic structures in Eastern Europe at that time.
