Abstract :
In 2005, European Community published the Directive 2005/32/EC regarding the requirements imposed when designing the CFLs (compact fluorescent lamps), followed by its application regulations no. 244/2009. Moreover, since 2011 the classical incandescent lamps will be put out of manufacturing. Consequently, the CFLs qualification is important from all points of view, taking into account their widespread future use by people. In this paper, the experimental results and comments related to the parameters imposed by the application regulations, particularly the determination of current harmonics and power factor according to the norm EN 61000-3-2, are presented. Because criticism referring to the Directive limitation only to the issues related to affecting the power quality has appeared, the results regarding their associated electromagnetic disturbances according to CISPR 15 (EN 55015) are also presented in the paper.
