  • Abstract
RWCT stands for Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking and introduces new research-based, instructional methods able to help students think reflectively, take ownership of their personal learning, understand the logic of arguments, listen attentively, debate confidently and become independent, life-long learners. The program can be used in undergraduate schools, as well as in higher education, for all subjects with the existing curricula. The RWCT methods promote active inquiry, student-initiated learning, and refinement of problem-solving skills, critical thinking, cooperative learning, and authentic assessment. The teacher training workshops model interactive instruction and learning, being built around demonstration lessons, with opportunities for discussion, practice, and questions. Skilled and experienced educators share their didactic experience, offer professional development materials, and consultant services designed to promote critical thinking, active and cooperative learning and democratic citizenship.
