  • Abstract
    The presence of existing computers in the computer laboratory of Electrical Engineering of UIN Suska Riau is starting to drop behind by the rapid development of computer technology. These problems can overcome by developing existing computer become PC cluster. In this research, we has built a PC cluster that consists of a head node computer, and nine compute node computers. Network topology used is hybrid star-tree topology. The operating system used is openSUSE 11.1, parallel programming specification used is MPI, and parallel programming libraries used are MPICH1. PC clusters have been successfully built and can run parallel programs. Tests of parallel programs using a “Hello World” program in MPI written in C programming language.
